I'm illustrating a journey through a nature center, and here is a page I drew this week. Those who love Briar Bush may recognize Scarlet, the poor Screech Owl who fell when she was a baby and lost sight in one of her eyes. The good people at Briar Bush take care of her now.

I'm on a plein air kick! Thankfully the weather has been cooperating more often than not. This morning I intended to pack up my car and head out to my painting location. However, as I was fine tuning my easel set-up with my husband, this view caught my eye. Sometimes you can find inspiration in your own back yard, literally. "Two Little Birds" is 10 x 8 inches. Floridian water is definitely affecting my color choices this week. My eyes just want to dive in. I wonder what this neighborly tufted titmouse thinks of it... He will be one of about 20 original watercolor paintings that I am hanging at Elcy's Cafe @ the Glenside Train Station tomorrow, for my first solo show. He has a purple finch to keep him company there. Show dates: April 1 - May 12, 2016 Hours: M-F 5:45a-3p, Sat 8a-2:30p |
